Italy in the Valley is sure to be nothing short of extraordinary this year. This event is a tradition dating back to 2009, giving people in the area the opportunity to celebrate wine, food, music, and friendship. Winemakers from throughout Oregon's wine country will bring their best offerings, as will producers of other traditional Italian commodities. The entrance fee includes a logo wine glass, a light lunch, wine tastings, and samples of Cana’s Feast Winery’s salami and olive oil from vendors.

Bounty of Yamhill County:

Bounty of Yamhill County is hosting several events over the course of a few days to raise money. Throughout these days is the Chill ‘n Grill at Abbey Road Farm with Quaintrelle, Chill ‘n Grill at Remy Wines with Nick’s Italian Cafe featuring chef Carmen Peirano’s food, Pinot 101 at Brittan Vineyards, a Vineyard Hike and lunch at Daffodil Hill Vineyard with Maria & Rob Stuart of R. Stuart & Co. Winery, a Beer + Wine Brunch with Xicha Brewery at Hideaway at Dobbes, a Create Your Own Wine Tasting Journal at Elizabeth Chambers Cellar, and a BIG NIGHT at Sokol Blosser Winery. The proceeds from these events will benefit the Yamhill Enrichment Society, so it’s safe to say this is some guilt-free fun anyone will be happy to enjoy.

Alt Wine Festival

The Alt Wine Festival is being hosted by Sunday School Wine and The Old Schoolhouse. This festival will include Oregon’s 70-odd grape varieties in a fun and casual atmosphere, and we’re sure it’s going to be a great day enjoy all Oregon’s wine country has to offer. Make sure to get your tickets fast as there’s no telling when they’ll run out.

Opera on the Lawn, Remy Wines

Opera on the Lawn at test Remy Wines is a free event that captures the essence of Portland’s food cart culture with Opera a la Cart. This is a mobile performance venue from Portland Opera, bringing opera straight to the community by way of pop-up performances. The setup was built and designed by architecture students from Portland State University. With a fold-out stage and a “menu” of operative specials, these charismatic young singers will be performing a variety of opera-style music as guests enjoy.

Country Girl Half Marathon

Country Girl Half Marathon:

The Country Girl Half Marathon is an all-women event. Each country girl will receive a Country Girl finisher medal, as well as a custom t-shirt, beer, cider, tasty food, and more. The beginning of the marathon will take place at the historic Kliever Memorial Armory. It runs along the stunning Columbia River, boasting incredible views of the Cascade mountains that complement this run to make it an experience you’ll never forget. The courses are flat and fast, and there will be aid stations offering water, energy drinks, energy foods, and toilets every two miles or so. All in all, this should be a great day out to enjoy the community.
